Young children learn to conquer the keyboard while they explore Typer Island, search for treasures, earn points, and reach the Castle and become touch-typists and rule Typer Island! This educational, entertaining, and motivating Typing Program will teach your students keyboarding basics and proper hand positions. It offers rewards every step of the way with age-appropriate lessons, challenges, tests, and over 30 arcade-style, typing game challenges! A comprehensive Management Center gives educators everything they need to facilitate the program for their school district, schools, classrooms, and students.
Typing Instructor’s proven typing method includes eleven complete Typing Plans for grades K-5, beginning with the Home Row Plan for K-1, up to the Suggested Typing Plan for grades 4 to 5. Students receive results and reports on all typing activities and a Certificate of Accomplishment when they successfully reach the Castle.
Grade Specific Typing Plans
Teachers and students can select from 11 custom Typing Plans for specific grades. Typing Instructor provides 160 lessons, 140 tests, 40 engaging practice stories, and 30+ typing game challenges.
Students collect rewards and fill their Treasure Chest with coins and jewels and earn points every-step-of-the-way on a reward-seeking adventure. Typing challenges, exciting games, and fun ways to practice motivate students to learn to type and improve their speed and accuracy.
Typer Island is a fun and exciting place. Students can take a break from their Typing Plan and visit Explorer Island where they can play games with just the keys they have learned. When they reach the Castle they have access to new activities, including two challenging games in the Lost City, Ziggy and Treasures of the Lost City.
The comprehensive Management Center gives educators everything they need to facilitate the typing program for their school district, schools, classrooms, and students. Teachers have all the reports they need to assist students with their typing progress and assign grades.
